Frequently Asked Questions
-
I can make contact with access points to support your body to release spinal blockages. When the blockages in the “communication system” of the body and brain are corrected the body can self-repair.
-
There are major differences between the two. A Chiropractor obtains their qualification through university education and corrects subluxations in the spine via adjustments. My training was with former Chiropractor, Dr Carli Axford, in the Spinal Flow® Technique - a non-invasive therapy to release blockages and allow your body to heal.
-
At your initial appointment I will conduct a full assessment of the 7 gateways of your spine, a postural analysis (including photos) and then I’ll have a feel of your spine to locate any blockages you may have. Based on the outcome of these assessments I will let you know if Spinal Flow can assist you or not.
-
This depends completely on the results of your initial assessments and what your health goals are.
Healing is a process - much like having braces on your teeth or going to the gym. You need to allow time and consistency for your body to change. Scheduling will be set uniquely for you and your requirements.
-
After your initial assessment, a Spinal Flow session will involve you lying face down on my table, sacral bolsters will be placed under your pelvis and I will scan your body for access points (predominantly on your sacrum and sphenoid). I will make contact with those access points to grow the Spinal Wave in your body.
-
Yes - the technique is strongly linked to anatomy and the nervous system. Spinal Flow can move the body from fight/flight (sympathetic state) to a parasympathetic state where your body is able to heal. Powerful emotional, mental and physical breakthroughs are possible with this gentle, non-invasive modality.
-
Access points are locations rich in dura mater. Dura mater is the top layer of the thick membrane of dense connective tissue that surrounds the brain and spinal cord and protects the central nervous system. They are often found where the dura mater interface with key areas of the body, such as the sacrum, coccyx and cranium.
-
The Spinal Wave is the flow of cerebrospinal fluid up and down our spinal column. Our goal is to influence this flow and address any restrictions or imbalances to allow the unimpeded flow of information from our brain throughout our body via the nervous system.
